Crystals have been increasing in popularity as we move to a more organic way of life with clean eating, meditation, boho interior style and sustainable design growing. Crystals have also become part of this movement and there’s no better time than spring to introduce some new crystals as part of the spring clean!

This spring, cleanse your space from negative energy with Justine Wilson, Director & Principal Stylist of Vault Interiors, using her how-to guide.

Five ways to incorporate crystals into your home:

    1. Beautiful crystal clusters – place your crystals in a cluster on a coffee table, or on top of a stack of books to create a gorgeous addition to your home. Pair it with a candle and some fresh flowers for a pretty vignette.
    2. Crystal candle holders – crystal tealight holders or candlestick holders are a great way to add crystals to your home, they look great as table place setting and glow at night when the candles are burning.
    3. Crystal bookends – these look fantastic on shelving and add a point of difference to your home.
    4. Crystal water bottles – these have become a big trend with the idea that the individual properties of the crystal infuse with water and assist you in daily life. Crystal coasters are also beautiful and very popular.
    5. A collection group – these make beautiful décor anywhere in your home, it’s about pairing similar colours together and in different heights to make a visual statement. You can also take these crystals into your office space for a nice accessory.

Justine’s top 5 crystals for beginners to introduce into their home:

    1. Amethyst – considered a highly spiritual crystal, good for clearing the mind and for meditation.
    2. Smoky quartz – meant to repeal negative energy from your own thoughts and those projected by others, good for the office to repel nasty co-workers.
    3. Clear quartz – a wonderful all-rounder crystal that can be tuned to assist with many issues.
    4. Citrine – a good one if you want to attract abundance, prosperity and wealth into your life.
    5. Pyrite – if you love metallic accessories, this is a great one to bring into your home as it is meant to protect your aura and generally promotes good mental and psychic health.
